Electrical installations, mechanical systems of Confesercenti
1 - 2 - 3 - 4The new Confesercenti premises in Cervia were designed specifically with energy saving as a primary objective, this was to be achieved through use of renewable energy sources and by optimising plant engineering and components. As this was an intervention on a pre-existing building there would not have been any compulsory standards to adhere to with regards to the insulation. However, taking into consideration the desire to create a building which was geared towards energy saving and the reduction of atmospheric emissions, thermal insulation of the structure (external walls and ceilings) was decided on. In doing so, the potential energy consumption for heating during the winter months was reduced by 25%. With regards to the mechanical systems withing the building, the engineering systems implemented were also geared towards energy saving, foreseeing for the winter heating system a low temperature installation with underfloor radiant panels supplied by a condensing boiler with the energy producing capacity equal to 50kW. A controlled air exchange installation was chosen with an air handling unit (UTA) equipped with heat recovery so as to limit the need for energy to treat the air before returning it. (The heat from the extracted air is used to heat the air coming from the outside.
